- Foxes suffer their initial Test loss in Berlin

The Hamburgers of Foxes Berlin experienced their initial setback in the preseason. The Champions League qualifier suffered a loss to the top-tier Danish squad, Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, with a score of 30:32 (14:18) in a mini-tournament held in Potsdam. Tobias Reichmann led the scoring for Berlin with five goals. Fabian Wiede, Nils Lichtlein, and Mijajlo Marsenic each contributed four goals.

Coach Jaron Siewert was without six usual players shortly after the Olympics. Nevertheless, the Foxes emerged victorious in the mini-tournament as they had previously beat the host and collaborating partner 1. VfL Potsdam 37:30 on Thursday and defeated Silkeborg 31:28 on Friday.

This upcoming weekend, another tournament is scheduled before the season kicks off. The Berliners will participate in the So-Tech-Cup in Halle (Westfalen), where they will face strong contenders like THW Kiel, Telekom Veszprem, and HBC Nantes.

The Foxes' inaugural competitive game will occur on August 31 in the Supercup against the current champion and cup winner SC Magdeburg. Their initial Bundesliga match is set for September 7 against ThSV Eisenach.

Despite the setback in Handball against Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, the Foxes bounced back to win the mini-tournament. During the So-Tech-Cup next weekend, Berlin's Handball team will face off against handball powerhouses THW Kiel, Telekom Veszprem, and HBC Nantes.
