"Handball: Sports Update" - Foxes Berlin suffer loss in Lindberg's final game

The Berlin Foxes experienced their last loss at home in the Handball Bundesliga. They were defeated by Bergisches HC in front of 8,518 spectators at the Max Schmeling Hall, with a score of 29:30 (16:15) on Thursday night. This outcome had no significant impact on the situation in the league for the city's primary team, as they had already secured the second spot in the table.

Mathias Gidsel and Hans Lindberg, Berlin's best sharpshooters, both scored eight goals each, with Lindberg shooting for his last time as a Fox. As he left the game, the audience gave him a standing ovation and wiped away their tears.

The match started innocuously, with the hosts having no real interest in winning. Due to their shaky focus, they frequently struggled to execute a flawless offense. On the other hand, the guests needed to win to help their struggle for survival, which led them to make numerous errors.

In the first half, the Foxes held the lead almost constantly, despite their not-so-impressive shooting accuracy. This was primarily due to their excellent defense and goalkeeper Viktor Kireev's impressive saves.

Things took a turn when the second half started, as the Foxes' stamina began to wane. The BHC seized the lead and even had a three-goal advantage at one point (21:18). Two red cards were issued to BHC's players, Fredrik Ladefoged in the 42nd minute and Lukas Stutzke in the 56th minute. As a result, the Foxes capitalized on their opportunity and equalized (27:27). Nonetheless, four seconds before the match ended, the BHC scored the winning goal.
