Fourteen more refugees were apprehended in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

In the Vorpommern-Greifswald region, federal law enforcement halted multiple individuals once more. Among those apprehended on Tuesday were three minors.

In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, lawbreakers disguised as refugees were apprehended once more. As per the German Federal Police, a total of 14 unauthorized immigrants were halted on Tuesday in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. In Pomellen, 11 individuals hailing from Somalia were rounded up, in Heringsdorf, two men were caught from Afghanistan, and a man was nabbed from Pakistan.

Among these, three females and eight males from Somalia, including three minors, declared they had traversed Germany through the so-called Belarus route. The three minors were handed over to the juvenile services of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, while the remaining eight submitted asylum applications and were transferred to the initial reception center in Stern-Buchholz.

Another Afghan and the Pakistani met a similar fate, being accommodated in Stern-Buchholz. However, the second Afghan was escorted back to Poland.

During the first six months of the year, around 3,100 unauthorized entries through the infamous Belarus route were recorded nationwide. As per the figures from the Federal Police, a staggering 11,900 individuals entered Germany through this route in the entire year of 2023.

Men and boys from various backgrounds were among the 14 unauthorized immigrants apprehended in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In total, eleven men and boys from Somalia were caught in Pomellen, and two men from Afghanistan were apprehended in Heringsdorf.
