Four youths arrested after threats at Hamburg schools
Four young people have been arrested after making threats against teachers at two schools in Hamburg. Initially, only one incident had been reported, in which a teacher was allegedly threatened with a weapon. The police arrested the four pupils, aged between 12 and 14, in the evening. Two toy weapons were reportedly seized from them.
Two of them are suspected of having threatened a teacher with a weapon in a classroom at a school in Hamburg-Blankenese in the morning. The school with 1000 pupils was then evacuated by the police.
In the evening, it then became known that a similar threat had been made at the Mendelssohnstraße school in the Bahrenfeld district. The situation at both schools was calm again in the evening.
The school evacuation due to the threats was classified as an emergency situation. In response to the escalating crime in Hamburg schools, the local authorities have urged parents to discuss safety measures with their children.
