Four teenagers and young men in custody for acts of violence
Four teenagers and young men between the ages of 16 and 19 have been arrested in and around Munich during extensive search operations. They are suspected of being the alleged ringleaders of a youth group from Markt Schwaben that had committed a number of criminal offenses, the police said on Friday.
A total of nine properties in the districts of Erding, Ebersberg, Kelheim, Unterallgäu and Munich were searched in cooperation between the Poing police station, the Erding criminal investigation department and the Munich II public prosecutor's office. Four arrest warrants were executed on Friday and drugs, cash, alarm guns and a prohibited knife were found.
The investigation was prompted by an assault on four young people on October 7, 2023, when they were suddenly attacked by several young people at Markt Schwaben train station with punches and kicks, resulting in serious injuries. The subsequent investigations led to the four young men being strongly suspected of the crime.
The suspected ringleaders of the criminal group from Markt Schwaben, responsible for various acts of violence, hail from Upper Bavaria. One of the searched properties was located in Munich.
