In a traffic accident involving a truck, a van, and two cars in Karlsruhe, four people were injured, according to firefighters. Among them were one person with life-threatening injuries and two seriously injured. All were taken to hospitals. Initially, police reported only three injuries.

When firefighters arrived at the scene on the South Bypass, they found that the rescue service was already caring for those with lighter injuries. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a person who was trapped and had life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
