Darmstadt-Dieburg - Four injured in head-on collision: woman trapped
Four people have been injured in a head-on collision between two cars on the B38 federal highway. According to a police statement, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon after a 63-year-old driver drove his car into the opposite lane shortly after the Sonnenhof junction near Reinheim. His 54-year-old female passenger was trapped in the car and had to be freed by the fire department. She was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The 25-year-old woman and the 49-year-old man sitting in the oncoming car were slightly injured in the collision. The 63-year-old man also suffered minor injuries. Emergency services also took them to nearby hospitals.
According to the police, the cars were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The B38 was closed from the Sonnenhof junction to the B426 for around two hours for the accident investigation and recovery of the vehicles. In addition to the police, five ambulances, an emergency ambulance and two vehicles from the volunteer fire department were deployed.
