Göttingen district - Four injured in accident
Four people - including two children - were injured in an accident on the B80 federal highway between Hann-Münden in the Göttingen district and Witzenhausen in Hesse. The suspected perpetrator of the accident, the driver of a large dark car, fled the scene, the police reported on Sunday. According to initial information, the dark car, an SUV or estate car, overtook a queue of cars in front of it late on Sunday morning - despite oncoming traffic.
An oncoming driver had to brake hard to avoid a collision. Her car skidded and collided with the car at the end of the queue. The woman and the driver of the car at the end of the queue, who was carrying two children, were slightly injured, as were the children. The injured were taken to hospital. The main road had to be completely closed for a time.
