Four Cornell College instructors get hurt in China's severe occurrence, reveals university.
The instructors were serving in China as part of a collaboration with a local institution and were accompanied to a public park by a faculty member of their partnered institution, Cornell College President Jonathan Brand stated in an address to the college's members.
"We have been in contact with all four instructors and are aiding them during this period," Brand said.
Brand failed to mention the partner institution in his statement.
According to the institution, no students were a part of the program.
Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson, representing the area where the college is situated, wrote on X that the four college staff members "were viciously attacked."
"My staff has been in touch with Cornell College and will do all that is possible to bring these Iowans back home safely," Hinson said. "Let us join together in praying for their well-being and safety."
