Education - Foundation stone planned for 120 million campus
At the construction site of the new education campus in Hamburg-Borgfelde, the cornerstone is to be laid next Monday. This was announced by Hamburg's Finance and Educational Authorities. Since the city is investing around 120 million Euro into the project, Hamburg's First Mayor Peter Tschentscher, Senator for Schools Ksenija Bekeris, and Finance Senator Andreas Dressel (all SPD) are expected to attend the ceremony. In the morning, a time capsule will be filled with memorabilia and concrete.
By 2027, two vocational schools and the Hamburg Vocational University of Applied Sciences (BHH) will be built on the campus site in the east of the city. Space and money are also allocated for sports halls and an apprentice housing complex.
The construction site for the new education campus in Hamburg-Borgfelde is currently a bustling hub of activity, with builders and engineers working tirelessly to prepare for the laying of the foundation stone. This significant milestone in the project's development will provide an opportunity for the Senate, led by First Mayor Peter Tschentscher, Senator for Schools Ksenija Bekeris, and Finance Senator Andreas Dressel, to reaffirm their commitment to investing in the city's future through education. Furthermore, the celebration will date a time capsule filled with memorabilia and concrete, serving as a testament to the city's vision for the BHH campus and its focus on providing high-quality vocational education, sports facilities, and residences for apprentices in Hamburg.
