Crisis situations - Found in the woods through an emergency call, firefighters save a child age 11.
A 17-year-old's quick thinking saved a boy who had fallen in a forest near Wesel. The district command center chief praised the "outstanding behavior" of the teen in a statement released on Friday.
While riding his mountain bike with a friend in the woods, the 17-year-old took a fall. He called 112 for help, but it was challenging to locate the boy in the forest. The dispatcher kept him on the line and asked for details about his surroundings. The rescue vehicle then turned on its siren, and the boy used the phone to point out where he heard the sound coming from. This system worked, allowing the vehicle to move closer and closer to the boys until the technical location was found, explained the statement.
