Dennis Borkowski is transferring from RB Leipzig to the third-division football team FC Ingolstadt. Leipzig made the announcement on a Friday. The 21-year-old striker, who was previously temporary loaned to Dynamo Dresden, joined the club in 2014 and signed his first professional contract in May 2020. Over the course of four Bundesliga matches and one DFB Cup game, Borkowski caught the eye of club officials. Following this, they decided to lend him to 1. FC Nuremberg for 18 months where he played in 24 games and managed to score three goals.
"We've been eying Dennis Borkowski for a while," commented FC Ingolstadt's business manager Dietmar Beiersdorfer. "He's a well-trained player who stands out not only for his exceptional skill and rapid pace but also his excellent goal-scoring ability." No information was revealed about the length of the contract.
