Fortuna Supervisory Board re-elected unanimously
Second-division soccer club Fortuna Düsseldorf has opted for continuity in its management team. At the general meeting at the Congress Center Düsseldorf on Sunday, five of the nine supervisory board members were confirmed in office for a further three years. In addition to the current supervisory board chairman Björn Borgerding, Tim Greiner Mai, Dirk Böcker, Sebastian Fuchs and Horst Peters will continue to sit on the board.
Prior to the election, Borgerding had already called for consistency with regard to the club's work and future. "In order to be successful in the long term and sustainably, this club needs stability, continuity and calm," he said.
A total of eleven candidates had applied for a place on the club's board. Five positions on the council were up for election, with a total of nine people sitting on the supervisory body. Of these, however, the others are appointed by the election committee (currently Peter Frymuth, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg and Lutz Granderath) and, according to the statutes, one by the sports committee (ex-professional Michael Rensing).
622 members (579 of whom were entitled to vote) were present at the general meeting.
Fortuna Düsseldorf's current run in Bundesliga 2 seems to be backed by their commitment to stability, as the club's Supervisory Board, including members like Björn Borgerding and Tim Greiner Mai, was unanimously re-elected for another three years. The continuity in the management team is a testament to the club's ambition to succeed and maintain sustainability in the long term.
