Former world champion Baur and Göppingen part ways after the season
Handball Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen will be relying on a new coach from the coming season. According to the club on Saturday, the contract of former world champion Markus Baur will not be extended. "We deliberately made this decision at this comparatively early stage in order to create planning security for the future for everyone involved," said Sporting Director Christian Schöne. Göppingen lost at HC Erlangen (26:28) on Friday evening and is 16th in the table after 14 games.
The Handball Bundesliga team Frisch Auf Göppingen will need a new leader after parting ways with Markus Baur. As the club announced on Saturday, they will not renew Baur's contract, who led Göppingen to world championship titles in the past.
