Internet - Former Telekom manager moves to Vodafone
Vodafone, the telecommunications provider, reinforces its team with a manager from Deutsche Telekom who has been with the company for many years. Hagen Rickmann will join the management of Vodafone Germany in March 2025 and will be responsible for the corporate customer segment. The German subsidiary of the British Vodafone Group announced this on a Wednesday in Düsseldorf. Rickmann will start working for Vodafone in another role in November 2024, where he will oversee the corporate customer business in Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Albania, and Turkey. He will continue to perform this role when he joins the management team four months later.
Previously, Rickmann had been with the competitor in Bonn for 15 years, most recently as the head of corporate customers for Telekom Deutschland. He is now taking over this role at the rival in Düsseldorf. Vodafone is under pressure, as the company has lost market shares in recent years, and Deutsche Telekom and O2 Telefónica have gained from this. Vodafone is attempting to recover by implementing job cuts and efficiency measures to make the company more competitive.
The corporate customer segment currently accounts for about 20 percent of Vodafone Germany's total service revenue. Management sees growth opportunities in this area: it is the only business segment where jobs are being added and not cut. To strengthen the corporate customer segment, the Vodafone Group plans to invest an additional 250 million euros in this segment during the 2023-2025 business year and create around 120 new jobs in Germany.
