Retail trade - Former head of Austria takes over Tchibo leadership

The coffee and retail group Tchibo is getting a new boss. The previous head of Austria, Erik Hofstädter, was appointed as the new Chairman of the Management Board of Tchibo GmbH by the Supervisory Board on Tuesday, as the company announced. He succeeds Werner Weber, who moved from the Supervisory Board to the top of Tchibo at short notice in 2021. Weber will reportedly return to the Supervisory Board of Tchibo GmbH.

Weber called his successor a "high-profile marketing and sales expert". Before his three years at the helm of the Austrian Tchibo subsidiary, the 45-year-old reportedly worked for Red Bull, Lindt & Sprüngli and Coca-Cola.
