Ex-Bundesliga player Mike Frantz is set to take on a new role as the "Head of Development" for the second division team SV Elversberg starting from next season. Frantz, who turns 37 this year, will be responsible for identifying potential for growth in the licensed team and transition zone and implementing measures to achieve these goals.
SVE sports director Ole Book commented on the new hire, saying, "Mike has a vast experience in professional football, is very meticulous and will tackle this new role with great enthusiasm. We're thrilled to have him on board to help us tackle the challenges of the 2. Bundesliga even better."
Frantz had previously played in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Nuremberg and SC Freiburg. He concluded his career with the third division club 1. FC Saarbrücken in the summer of 2023. Frantz shared his excitement about his new position, saying, "I was looking for a football job that I'm passionate about. Elversberg is a team that has followed clear principles for years, which I can fully identify with. I'm really looking forward to contributing my expertise and learning from the team as well."
