There was another fire in the woods in the Westerwald at the weekend. The police are now talking about arson.

Westerwald district - Forest fires again: arson suspected

After a series of 14 smaller forest fires in the Westerwaldkreis area within approximately one week, the police are investigating arson. According to the Koblenz Police's announcement, at least 14 fires can be traced back to this series since June 8th. The fires occurred in the areas of Ransbach-Baumbach, Höhr-Grenzhausen and Köppel. So far, no one has been harmed, and the damage assessed by the officers is considered "relatively low." However, this series is affecting the sense of security of the population. In addition, the local fire departments are reportedly heavily burdened by the interventions. According to the police, numerous tips from the population have come in - they continue to ask for noteworthy observations to be reported.
