Meteorological Conditions - Forecast predicts thunderstorms in various regions of Bavaria during the early days of the week.
Warm and humid air making its way to Bavaria is predicted to spark thunderstorms starting in the afternoon, warns the meteorologists. This might involve torrential downpours at a rate of 20 liters per square meter per hour, hailstones, and gusts of winds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour. Forecasters anticipate localized sets of thunderstorms thanks to the heavy rains. As the night unfolds, more intense thunderstorms are expected, bringing rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 liters per square meter in a brief span, with particularly heavy amounts up to 50 liters per square meter. Hailstones that could be up to 3 centimeters in size and blustery winds of 90 kilometers per hour aren't entirely ruled out.
The DWD prediction sees an opening of the day on Tuesday with rain in the eastern Alpine regions and near the mountains, with afternoon rainfall tapering off in the eastern Alpine foothills and the Bavarian Forest. The rest of the territory will have a mix of sun and clouds, with intermittent showers. Temperatures will be between 15 to 20 degrees.
The morning of Wednesday will bring sunny instances in the southeastern corner of Bavaria, with some showers expected in western Franconia. As the day rolls on, rain is expected to advance eastwards, with sporadic showers and possible thunderstorms from Unterfranken all the way to Swabia. Temperatures will range from 18 to 23 degrees.
