For the fourth time, Kreuch serves as Mayor of Gotha.

Gotha's mayor, Knut Kreuch of the SPD, has been re-elected for a sixth term, defeating non-party candidate Robert Luhn in the run-off election held on Sunday.

Voting process - For the fourth time, Kreuch serves as Mayor of Gotha.

Using crutches, Kreuch earned 62.9% of the votes, while Luhn, backed by the CDU, received 37.1%. With roughly 46,000 residents, Kreuch is set to begin his fourth term in the city's administration.

In October, Gotha, a city with a rich history stretching back 1,250 years, will commemorate its jubilee. This celebration will honor the city's first recorded mention in a charter signed by Charlemagne.

On a Sunday marked by high voter turnout, Kreuch officially began his fourth term as Mayor of Gotha, promising to prioritize the city's development and preserve its rich history, much like the run-off election process in diplomacy.
