For the first time, Lithuania has been awarded Michelin stars, with four of them located in its capital, Vilnius.

With much-anticipation, the Michelin Guide was released for Lithuania, the tiniest of the Baltic countries, featuring culinary establishments in all three Baltic nations. Notably, Vilnius boasts four elite Michelin-starred dining facilities.

Proudly announcing the initial release of the Michelin Guide Lithuania, produced in Vilnius after a year-long search by Michelin Guide inspectors to find top Lithuanian dining spots. The Lithuanian debut guide features 34 recommended restaurants, with four earning a Michelin star, four receiving the Michelin Bib Gourmand, and one awarded the Michelin Green Star.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, commented, "We're thrilled to unveil the first Michelin Guide for Lithuania, completing the coverage of the region alongside Estonia and Latvia. Among the honored establishments are four Michelin-starred restaurants, four Michelin Bib Gourmand recipients, and one Michelin Green Star recipient."

The Restaurants with a Michelin Star

All four Michelin-starred culinary destinations are found in Vilnius:

  • Demo (loftas): Daytime cafe transformed into an evening fine dining experience
  • Džiaugsmas: Offering creative Lithuanian dishes with a minimalist approach
  • Nineteen18: Industrial-style restaurant featuring regional cuisine and their own farm's products
  • Pas mus: Meaning "with us," this eatery serves a changing seasonal menu designed by Chef Vita

Another Four restaurants are granted the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which indicates exceptional value for the prices they charge: These are 14Horses, Gaspar's, Le Travi (all in Vilnius) and Nűman in Kaunas.

26 restaurants that earned the inspectors' notice are welcomed into the main selection, showcasing their standout food quality.

Moreover, the Michelin Green Star is presented to the Red Brick in Radiškis, commending its dedication to sustainability and sustaining superb environmental efforts along with culinary excellence.

Finally, the Michelin Special Awards recognize trailblazers who craft an unforgettable dining journey thanks to their undying zeal and remarkable skills. This year's recipients are: Young Chef Award to Tadas Eidukevičius of Demo in Vilnius, Service Award for Gaspar Fernandes of Gaspar's in Vilnius, and the Sommelier Award going to Kamilė Bartusevičiūtė of Pacai in Vilnius.
