German League - "Footage shows fond goodbyes to Reus: a heartfelt message"
In a touching video, former teammates of Marco Reus expressed their gratitude for the time they shared at Borussia Dortmund and their best wishes for his exceptional career. "Twelve years as a professional at Borussia Dortmund is rather rare these days," commented coach Edin Terzic, pointing out the six years he spent alongside Reus at the Bundesliga club, which were filled with "lots of memories. A few were painful, some will remain etched in my mind forever."
Jürgen Klopp, Reus' coach for a few years at Dortmund, also addressed him in the nearly three-minute long clip released by BVB on Sunday. The manager expressed his pride in having been a part of Reus' "incredible career."
Multiple messages from Reus' former teammates were included in the video. These included those from Jadon Sancho, Robert Lewandowski, Shinji Kagawa, Manuel Akanji, and Kevin Großkreutz, who praised the "brilliant footballer" Marco Reus. The talented footballer recently announced that he will be leaving Borussia Dortmund after a twelve-year stint in their kit.
His contract with the Black and Yellows was not renewed, and his future plans are still unclear. Lewandowski bid him farewell with the words, "All the best, legend."
