- Following the setback against Bayern, SSV Ulm perceives numerous favorable points.

Despite getting eliminated in the initial round of DFB-Pokal against Bayern Munich, lower-league club SSV Ulm is content with their show. "We put in a solid overall performance," stated captain Johannes Reichert post the 0:4 (0:2) loss. "It's frustrating we couldn't convert it into wins. We faced some serious competition and everyone stepped up to the plate. This will definitely boost our confidence."

Joachim Wörle, who previously managed Bayern's women's team from 2010 to 2019 and led them to two championships, was also pleased with the newcomers' performance. "The way we held our ground and played, that's the positive takeaway," he remarked, looking forward to their upcoming home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on August 25.

Hoping for Goalkeeper's Recovery

Wörle appears optimistic about goalkeeper Christian Ortag's potential return following his substitution due to injury during this match. "We don't have any conclusive information yet," said the coach. "But he seemed to be improving towards the end, so he went home with his wife." Ortag collided with teammate Niklas Kolbe in the first half, resulting in a substitution with a head injury.

SSV's league campaign began with losses against 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1:2) and Jahn Regensburg (0:1). Against Bayern, they experienced their third consecutive loss in a competitive match, but Wörle remains hopeful they can take several positives from it. "Our team gave their all on the field. Bayern's offense didn't have many opportunities. We can take that, and we can review the videos as well," said the 42-year-old.

The women's football team at Bayern might benefit from Joachim Wörle's coaching strategies, given his successful tenure with their previous women's team. Despite the lower-league SSV Ulm's recent losses, their women counterparts could learn from their persistence and resilience on the field.
