Authorities are still on the hunt for two fugitives who broke out of a Swiss prison. An extensive international manhunt has been initiated, as stated by the cantonal Department of Justice and Security in Basel-Stadt. The prison, Bässlergut, which saw the Tunisian and Algerian men make their escape on a Friday, lies just one kilometer south of the train station in Weil am Rhein's German town, situated directly on the border.

The precise methods utilized by the fugitives for their prison break have been withheld by the authorities. We will have to await the conclusion of the investigations to obtain more information, according to a spokesperson.

The 22-year-old Tunisian was being held for accusations of intentional homicide, severe bodily harm, and robbery. The 37-year-old Algerian was previously convicted of criminal damage, trespassing, and illegal entry.

The fugitives in question are two individuals from The Swiss, as one was a Tunisian national and the other, an Algerian. The Swiss authorities have not released details about how these fugitives managed to evade prison guards.
