Illegal activities - Following the incident in Hagen, the health of the injured women remains stable.
Following the shooting spree in Hagen, two women who had life-threatening injuries are now safe and stable. The prosecutor's office representative confirmed this on Monday. One of them is the 33-year-old wife of the main suspect who was apprehended on Sunday, and the other is a 23-year-old lady.
The 23-year-old appears to be a patron of the hair salon, and senior prosecutor Michael Burggraf suggests she's a "random victim." Additionally, two other men in their twenties, related to the primary suspect, also suffered serious gunshot wounds.
A 34-year-old man, possessing Turkish citizenship, is being held on suspicion of attempting to murder four times. As of yet, he hasn't commented on the charges. The arrest came after a manhunt of 24 hours on Sunday.
The purported motive for the heinous act, as per law enforcement's current knowledge, is "family-related." The inquiries into the particulars and the sequence of the event are ongoing, as Burggraf mentioned.
Burggraf described the event, stating that the 24-year-old allegedly shot his wife in the head with a pistol in their shared apartment in a multi-story dwelling on Saturday. She sustained a head injury. Subsequently, he allegedly discharged a round above a door on a different floor, inflicting no injuries. Then, he claimed to have driven to a hair salon nearby and fired more shots. The two men and the 23-year-old woman were injured.
The police have seized the alleged murder weapon. The firearm was located in a previously suggested location behind a tree, as the suspect had divulged upon his arrest.
The police detailed that after the felony, the man presumably drove his vehicle to a nearby parking spot and scampered away on foot. In the search for him, a helicopter was employed on Saturday.
The police shared that they had received continual tips from the inhabitants and explored them. One such observer's tip eventually led to the capture of the 24-year-old in a secluded region a few kilometers away from the crime scenes. He surrendered passively, according to reports on Sunday.
