At Berlin's iconic Brandenburg Gate, a group assembled to honor the fallen victims of the violent incident in Solingen. Their gathering was guided by the spirit of "Fight Islamism, Protect Asylum Rights". According to police reports issued late in the day, the event proceeded without any significant disruptions. The event was scheduled to end at 9:00 PM. A photographer from dpa approximated around 100 attendees.

The event was organized by the grassroots movement "Love Over Hate", backed by individuals who are advocates of democracy and oppose extreme right-wing ideologies. A banner displayed: "Conquer Islamism with logic, not prejudice."

Last Friday, an assailant randomly assaulted bystanders during the festival in Solingen, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia. Amidst the confusion and initial panic, he managed to escape. Regrettably, three individuals—a 67-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman—lost their lives. Another eight people were wounded, four of them critically. The extremist group IS took responsibility for the atrocity. The suspect, a 26-year-old refugee originating from Syria, is currently in custody. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation. The incident sparked outrage across the nation, prompting calls for swift action.

The event at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate acknowledged the tragedy in Solingen, where a refugee from Syria was accused of a violent attack that resulted in several fatalities and injuries. Exercising their right to assemble, attendees rallied to conquer Islamism with logic and not prejudice, calling for the protection of asylum rights.
