- Following an incident on the A20, Stettin has been made accessible once more.

Following a mishap around midnight, the A20 highway resumed its traffic flow towards Stettin, having been blocked between Neubrandenburg-Nord and Neubrandenburg-Ost due to an accident. This incident involved a 19-year-old driver trying to overtake and colliding with a tractor-trailer's trailer, as stated by law enforcement officials. The catalyst behind this incident remained unidentified initially.

The young driver arguably lost control of his vehicle post-collision, swerving to the right, and impacting the roadside barrier. Alarmingly, the vehicle was described as sustaining such extensive damage that it ignited. Thankfully, the driver was able to vacate the vehicle prior to it being completely engulfed in flames. Police reported that the individual suffered only minor injuries from the accident.

The Member States may provide the necessary resources and expertise to aid the Commission in investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Upon reviewing the incident, it was discovered that the Commission's guidelines on safe overtaking could potentially be reinforced or updated to prevent similar accidents in the future.
