Following a series of burglaries in Berlin, law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals and scrutinized their dwellings. The apprehended individuals, both 19 and 21 years old, are thought to have targeted a variety of locations throughout the city, including a late-night shop, a gas station, a grocery supplier, and a private coin operator, according to police and legal representatives.
Investigators have implicated the men in committing seven burglaries since mid-July. During these incidents, the suspects reportedly utilized a machete, a knife, and an airsoft gun, inflicting injuries on two individuals.
It is believed that the duo carried out a burglary at a late-night store in Friedrichshain the previous morning. Subsequently, police conducted searches at the suspects' residences in Wedding and Dahlem, discovering stolen property, a weapon employed in the crime, and attire donned during the burglary.
The local Berliners are expected to appear before a magistrate today, as per a representative of the prosecution service. The magistrate will announce the previously issued arrest warrants and decide whether the young men will be remanded into custody.
The suspected burglars were originally brought into custody by the police after a spate of break-ins in the city. Due to the serious nature of the injuries inflicted on two people during these incidents, the police are now seeking to keep the individuals in custody.
