After a series of robberies and extortion cases in Hildesheim, the authorities raided the residences of five suspects. These suspects, ranging from 15 to 18 years old, had warrants issued for their arrest due to their high flight risk, as stated by the prosecution and police. The suspects are thought to have committed these crimes in various groups. A 17-year-old is currently detained for his suspected role in the incidents on June 3rd, 30th, and August 11th. Additionally, an 18-year-old is in custody, under suspicion of involvement in the incidents on May 12th and August 11th.
The raids uncovered potential evidence, such as clothing believed to have been worn during the criminal activities. The investigation continues to determine if these young men could be involved in other crimes. Extensive investigations and witness interrogations led to their identification.
The raids were prompted by four incidents that occurred between May and August: On May 12th, a 25-year-old was mugged for a significant amount of money and physically assaulted. On June 3rd, a 16-year-old was robbed of a smartphone at knife point. On June 30th, a 24-year-old was forced to surrender a music box, and when he attempted to retrieve it, he was threatened with a knife. Lastly, on August 10th, a 30-year-old was physically attacked during an argument before his personal documents were swiped.
