Accident with three fatalities - Folk festival in Naumburg ends with minutes of silence after accident
After a severe traffic accident resulting in three fatalities, the Kirschfest weekend in Naumburg was ended with three minutes of silence on the Bird Meadow. During the night from Sunday to Monday, there was a severe traffic accident on the road from Naumburg to Schöneburg. A car left the road, slid down a slope, and collided with a tree. Two young women, aged 19, and a 21-year-old man were trapped in the back seat and died at the scene of the accident. The 18-year-old passenger and the 43-year-old driver survived with light injuries. The police found indications of alcohol at the scene of the accident. The results of the blood test are still pending.
