Flu epidemic: Zwickau guest appearance in Jena canceled
An unusual match has been called off in the Regionalliga-Nordost. The match between FC Carl Zeiss Jena and FSV Zwickau scheduled for Saturday has been postponed indefinitely because the visitors currently have too few players available. This was announced by the North-East German Football Association (NOFV) on Thursday.
As Zwickau have a high number of sick players due to a flu epidemic, the relegated third-division team have only eight players available for the coming weekend. In addition, the Saxons have a high number of injured players. A new date has yet to be found. Zwickau is only second last after the upheaval in the summer and is threatened with relegation to the fifth division.
Due to a flu epidemic affecting their squad, FSV Zwickau can only field eight players in the Regional League-Nordost, leading to the postponement of their match against FC Carl Zeiss Jena. Despite being in a tough position in the league, with only two wins this season, Zwickau is still struggling with numerous injuries alongside the flu outbreak.
