Policy for sports - Flooding Relief: DOSB Creates Donation Platform for Clubs
The German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB) is providing aid to sports clubs affected by the flooding and has set aside 100,000 euros to assist them. This money is the beginning of a donation fund. "We are deeply troubled and sympathize with the situation many people in the southern parts of the country are currently going through due to the floods," said DOSB President Thomas Weikert on Wednesday. "We encourage our member organizations and other parties to contribute to this cause."
Weikert added, "The devastation caused by the floodwaters is also impacting sports clubs. As the umbrella organization for sports, we are making preparations to swiftly, bureaucracy-free, and compassionate help available during the rebuilding process while we stand behind these clubs." The DOSB will collaborate with the state sports associations in the affected areas to disburse the funds.
