Aftermath of Inundation - Flooding Crisis: Faeser Commits to More Aid

The Federal Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser, has guaranteed additional assistance to the areas in southern Germany impacted by the recent flooding. Speaking in Berlin on Saturday, Faeser, a member of the SPD party, indicated that the THW - the Technical Relief Organization's forces - are ready to release more personnel. "We'll keep helping the impacted states with our full capacity," she stated.

At the time of her speech, she reported 520 male and female THW members actively engaged in providing aid. They undertook various tasks, including rescuing individuals, reinforcing dikes, and removing water. Nancy Faeser expressed her appreciation for everyone's effort: "I appreciate the helpers who are working around the clock to save lives."

The minister urged residents in the affected Bavarian and Baden-Württemberg regions to adhere to the official warnings and guidance provided by authorities. "Please take these warning signs seriously!" she emphasized.
