Weather - Flood situation tense - no more rain at the weekend
The flood situation remains tense in parts of Baden-Württemberg. The heavy rainfall on Wednesday night caused some water levels to rise, as a spokesperson for the flood forecasting center (HVZ) explained. The flooding is therefore mainly limited to the southern part of the state. The rivers affected include those in the Black Forest, several tributaries of the Danube and the Upper Rhine.
No major damage has been reported to date. County roads may be closed at times, but nothing more is to be expected for the time being. The water level of Lake Constance is remarkable, as it is unusually high for this time of year. Shipping on the Rhine is still at a standstill for the time being on Wednesday. The level of 8.30 meters predicted for the Upper Rhine is not yet a problem for the dam system, the spokesman added.
The German Weather Service (DWD) was still expecting light rain on Thursday. Showers are also expected on Friday with highs of two to eight degrees. On Saturday, the rain will stop for the time being: The DWD predicted increasingly bright weather.

The flood situation in Stuttgart, located in Baden-Württemberg, is also being closely monitored due to the rising water levels. The weekend is expected to bring no more rain, providing a brief respite from the persistent bad weather. Despite the heavy rainfall affecting the Upper Rhine and its tributaries, the shipment on the Rhine remains halted. The Baden-Württemberg authorities advise residents to stay informed about the flood situation, as some county roads may be periodically closed. Despite the tense flood situation, no major damage has been reported along the River Rhine, but the water level of Lake Constance remains unusually high. The forecast for next week predicts a mix of showers and clearer weather, offering hope that the flood situation may gradually improve.
