Weather - Flood situation in Bavaria eases
The flood situation in Bavaria is gradually easing. According to the Flood Information Service (HND) on Thursday, the number of gauges at which reporting levels have been exceeded is decreasing. On the Danube, however, the floods are only slowly subsiding: until the weekend, the gauges in Kelheim, Hofkirchen, Vilshofen and Passau could still remain at reporting level 3 of 4, said a spokesperson for the HND. This means that individual built-up properties or cellars could be flooded and roads closed. Mobile flood protection was set up at Weltenburg Monastery near Kelheim as a precautionary measure.
