Flensburg's handball players bring Kirkelökke from Mannheim
Handball Bundesliga club SG Flensburg-Handewitt has made further progress with its squad planning. As the club announced on Thursday, Danish world champion Niclas Kirkelökke is moving from current cup winners Rhein-Neckar Löwen to Flensburg for the 2024/25 season. The left-back will sign a three-year contract at the Fjord until the summer of 2027. At the same time, the SG announced that the contract with Iceland's Teitur Einarsson, which expires next summer, will not be extended.
"When the request came in, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to be part of the SG. We had very good talks in which the overall package was absolutely right for me," the 29-year-old Kirkelökke was quoted as saying in a club statement. SG coach Nicolej Krickau is certain that his Danish compatriot "will add a new dimension to our existing team and game".
SG Flensburg-Handewitt, known for its handball prowess in the Bundesliga, has secured the services of Danish world champion Niclas Kirkelökke for the 2024/25 season. Kirklökke, currently with cup winners Rhein-Neckar Löwen, will be joining the men's team, signing a three-year contract with the club, extending his tenure until the summer of 2027.
