Handball Star Jim Gottfridsson Will Part Ways with SG Flensburg-Handewitt in 2024/25, the club announced in a press release. They stated that Gottfridsson is yearning for a thrilling new venture. As revealed on his Instagram, the Swedish player will be joining Hungarian powerhouse Pick Szeged the following summer.
"I wanted to declare my decision early so I can fully relish my final season with Flensburg," shared Gottfridsson, who has donned the club's jersey since 2013. Flensburg's coach, Nicolej Krickau, commented, "Jim is a Flensburg legend and has had a fantastic career here. We're delighted that we'll share one more season together." The new campaign for the northern Germans commences on September 6 at 8:00 PM (CEST), with a home match against HC Erlangen.
Gottfridsson's decision to leave SG Flensburg-Handewitt will bring an end to his nine-year stint playing handball for the club. Following his departure, the renowned Swedish handball star will continue his career with Pick Szeged.
