Five-year-old hit by truck: Seriously injured
A five-year-old girl on her bicycle has been hit by a truck and dragged around 20 meters, according to police. The girl was seriously injured in the accident in Asbach-Bäumenheim (Donau-Ries district), a police spokesperson said on Friday. According to the information, however, there was no danger to life. According to initial findings, no permanent damage was expected. However, the girl was still being treated in hospital on Friday.
The five-year-old had driven through a junction on Thursday, ignoring a stop sign and the stop line. The driver of the truck initiated emergency braking, but hit the child with his vehicle anyway.
The head of the five-year-old, who according to the police was not wearing a helmet, smashed through the front paneling of the articulated truck. She was taken to hospital by helicopter.
The accident in Asbach-Bäumenheim, located in the Donau-Ries district of Swabia, involved a five-year-old girl and a truck in traffic. Despite initial concerns, the girl's condition improved, but she continued to receive treatment in the hospital to prevent any potential long-term effects from the traumatic incident.
