Five days after a swimming pool accident in Hagen, on the outskirts of the Ruhr area, a five-year-old child has died in the hospital. The police announced this on Saturday. The girl was attended to by lifeguards at the Westfalenbad on the previous Sunday and then taken to the hospital in an ambulance. According to current knowledge, the child had been underwater for several minutes.

"The exact circumstances that led to this incident are still the subject of police investigations," the statement read.

The swimming pool accident occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia, specifically in Hagen. The incident at the Westfalenbad swimming pool resulted in an emergency situation. Despite efforts from lifeguards and subsequent medical attention, the tragedy resulted in the child's death in a German hospital. German authorities, specifically the police, are currently investigating the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the swimming accident.
