- Five men are on a police chase.
Five men engaged in a high-speed car and foot chase with police after breaking into a house in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Officers, who were searching for the getaway vehicle on Friday, spotted it in the Bavarian district of Miesbach, police said. The men fled in their car at high speed, nearly causing at least one accident. Police eventually stopped the car in Bad Feilnbach (district of Rosenheim) and pursued the suspects on foot, with the help of a helicopter and dogs. Four men, aged between 19 and 41, were provisionally arrested. Another suspect was initially at large, a police spokesman said. The burglary of a single-family home in Austrian Thiersee (district of Kufstein) was reported by neighbors on Friday evening. The men now face charges including reckless driving. It is not yet known if anything was stolen during the burglary.
The men drove their car at high speed, putting other road users at risk. After the car was stopped, the police continued their pursuit on foot.
