- Five injured in car crash

A young police recruit is suspected of causing an accident involving five injuries in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. The 21-year-old apparently failed to yield at an intersection near Neustadt-Glewe, as reported by police. There is suspicion that he may have been driving under the influence of drugs. A blood sample is now being analyzed.

At the intersection, the young man's car collided with another car. The 37-year-old driver and the 26-year-old passenger were severely injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital. A nine-year-old child in the same car sustained minor injuries, as did the driver and his 22-year-old passenger.

The police are investigating the young recruit further due to the accident investigation findings. The local authorities have also issued a warning to drivers about the importance of yielding at intersections to avoid similar incidents.
