Weather - First weekend of Advent with snow, frost and icy conditions
The first weekend of Advent in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland will be wintry with frost and icy conditions. On Sunday, it will be cloudy to very cloudy with mostly no precipitation, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Saturday. In the evening, snowfall is possible in some areas from the west. Maximum temperatures will be between minus two and plus one degree.
In the night to Monday, the sky will be cloudy to overcast, with isolated snowfall possible in the north with a risk of icy conditions. The lows will be between minus four and minus two degrees, in the mountains down to minus six degrees.
There will be little change at the start of the week. Monday will remain very cloudy and snow may continue to fall in some areas, as forecasters predict. A maximum of zero to three degrees is expected. Precipitation will spread on Tuesday night, with the possibility of freezing precipitation and black ice at times. The DWD is forecasting two degrees for the southwest and light frost at just below minus three degrees for the east.
