Bundesliga side Werder Bremen won their test match against Coventry City. The Hanseatics secured a 2:1 (1:1) victory against the English second-tier side. Keke Topp (5') headed in and Marvin Ducksch (85') sealed the win for the visitors. Jack Rudoni (28') equalized for Coventry. Werder were without key defender and captain Marco Friedl and striker Dawid Kownacki due to illness, but showed improvement from their previous friendlies against US Lecce (0:3) and Sheffield Wednesday (2:2). Before the match at the Coventry Building Society Arena, another Werder formation played against a Coventry City selection in a closed-door training game, losing 0:4 (0:3). Coach Ole Werner wanted to give all his players the chance to play a full 90 minutes.

Marvin Ducksch's late goal in the 85th minute ensured Werder Bremen's victory over Coventry City, securing a 2:1 result. Despite the absence of key defender Marco Friedl and striker Dawid Kownacki due to illness, Marvin Ducksch played a crucial role in Werder's improvement from their previous friendlies.
