Chip production - First construction measures approved for Intel factory in Magdeburg

For the construction of Intel Corporation's planned chip factories in Magdeburg, the first building permits have been approved. The Landesverwaltungsamt granted approval for soil works, as stated by their own announcement. The premature construction start includes, among other things, all necessary excavation sites for factory buildings and other facilities.

The approval process for the planned chip production is currently under review by the authorities. At the Landesverwaltungsamt, there were 13 objections to the construction, including those concerning water usage, soils, and species protection.

If the overall approval is denied, the previous state of the land must be restored, as the Administration Office stated. The company has been issued numerous regulations from the areas of soil protection, nature conservation, waste law, building regulations, and traffic law.
