After a storm, firefighters are called to action in the southern part of Lower Saxony. Several flooded streets must be closed.

In the south of Lower Saxony, there have been numerous fire department deployments due to flooded basements following heavy rain. In Hann. Münden near Kassel, several streets were also closed due to flooding overnight on Saturday, a fire department spokesperson said upon request. Since Saturday evening, there have been over 50 deployments in Hann. Münden due to flooded basements. According to the fire department, no one was injured. The extent of the property damage caused by the heavy rain is still unclear.

Due to the sudden rise in water levels, the local authorities declared an emergency in Hann. Münden. The fire department was prepared to respond to any emergency situations arising from the floods.
