A total of eight injured - Firefighters lightly injured in workshop fire

Eight people, including five firefighters, were lightly injured in a fire in the Pforzheim city center. They were examined as a precaution at the scene but not taken to the hospital, a police spokesperson said. According to the spokesperson, a fire originating from a car caused significant damage and prompted a large-scale response from the fire department**. Over 100 personnel were deployed.

The fire, according to police, quickly spread from the car parked in a workshop to the rest of the building and an adjacent commercial building. It took approximately three hours to extinguish the fire, but cleanup operations continued into Wednesday morning due to recurring hotspots.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. Until the cleanup is complete, the scene cannot be accessed, the police spokesperson said. Therefore, the extent of the damage is also not yet known.

The intense flame from the fire caused concern, requiring all nearby buildings to be evacuated initially. Despite their efforts, firefighters struggled to contain the fire due to its rapid spread.
