Crisis Situations - Firefighters are attacked by canines while on the job.

Two volunteers from the Loburg (Jerichower Land) fire station encountered a dog attack while responding to a fire on Saturday afternoon. They were summoned to Wendgräben, a neighborhood in Möckern, to handle a fire that had begun after an 80-year-old man had burned and put out garden waste hours prior. Upon their arrival, the senior's dogs charged at the firefighters, injuring one of them seriously enough to require a trip to the hospital. The elderly homeowner then appeared and managed to subdue the dogs. The fire was eventually put out. Police have launched an inquiry into the incident, with the dog owner being potentially charged for causing negligent bodily harm. The fire covered two hectares of grassland.
