In the Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, a tragic incident occurred during a rescue operation at night. A 22-year-old firefighter lost his life due to the persistent rainfall of several days that had caused rivers and streams to flood in numerous areas, especially in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. As a result, hundreds of residents had to evacuate their homes, and over 10,000 volunteers joined the rescue efforts. A vast search operation is underway, with the participation of the Volunteer Fire Department, DLRG Water Rescue, Water Police, Bundeswehr, and the Police. Not one, but two helicopters are being utilized in this mission.
