An elderly gentleman, aged 59, inadvertently ignited a hedge and caused damage to a few vehicles in Rüdersdorf, which falls under the Märkisch-Oderland district. The incident occurred while the man was weeding and used a propane torch on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, the neighbor's hedge caught fire due to the intense heat. As a result, three cars parked nearby were damaged. The gentleman valiantly tried to put out the flames using a hose until the firefighters arrived. The police department's eastern district estimated the damage to be around 5,000 euros.

The elderly gentleman diligently tried to control the situation with a hose, demonstrating his knowledge from past firefighting training. Upon the arrival of the firefighting team, they efficiently extinguished the remaining flames.
