- Fire on BMW factory grounds - Fire brigade: quickly extinguished

In Berlin-Spandau, a fire broke out in a hall of the BMW Motorrad factory early in the afternoon. The fire department reported this. Initially, special forces were also deployed to the Juliusturm due to potential hazardous materials. However, it was later confirmed by a spokesperson for the fire department that these were not affected by the fire, and thus there was no danger. Nevertheless, the hazardous materials will be tested as a precaution. No one was injured, according to the reports.

Preliminary findings suggest that an automatic painting machine in the hall caught fire for unknown reasons. Thanks to the automatic fire extinguisher, the flames did not spread further and the fire was quickly extinguished. Around 60 emergency services were on site.

The intense fire in the BMW Motorrad factory hall was caused by an unknown incident with an automatic painting machine. Despite the quick extinguishing of the fire by the automatic fire extinguisher, the area where the fire originated will undergo testing for potential fire-related damage to the fire-sensitive materials.
